Day 4 continues with Day16 of the 28 day challenge in my Victoria’s Secret monokini that I got a couple years ago. It is still in style and I am still as in love with it when I first got it!!!
After the tour of the Mayan ruins at Tulum we went on a Catamaran to do a little snorkeling. We went to Puerto Morelos which has the second largest coral reef in the world. There were so many different kinds of fish and different sizes and colors. It’s moments this these that I wish I could swim. Yes I said it, I can’t swim. So I was suited up in my pretty little neon-orange life vest the entire time. I’m working on it though. I’ve come a long way and have improved significantly but I’m not confident in my stamina and swimming for long periods of time. I shall update you on my swimming progress this year! I will be swimming like a fish before the end of 2013!!! That was actually one of my new year’s resolutions.
This was by far the best snorkeling I’ve ever done! I’ve snorkeled before and I either saw that same type of fish or I realized I was swimming with a Barracuda and got out the water so quick you would of thought it was coming after me. The barracuda was actually just chilling and not coming towards me but hey, you never know! I don’t play.
After snorkeling I walked out onto an island and hung out there for a bit for some reflection and play time in the water then headed back to the hotel. Day 4 was so fun, information filled, and relaxing. If you ever get a chance, go to Puerto Morelos. You won’t be disappointed in your experience. The softest sand I think I’ve ever felt between my toes.
Day 4 of my trip and Day 16 of the 28 day challenge brings some simple shorts and a tribal print top. I chose to bring this top because it was in spirit of the Tulum tour that I took that day. Tulum is an ancient Mayan ruin where only about 100 people lived (approx. 12 families). It was said to be only for high priests, doctors, etc. The people there were so advanced that they knew about medicine, dentistry, and even astrology. I saw the evidence of all this first hand. This stuff isn’t made up y’all! If you make it out to Cancun or Playa Del Carmen you have to come to Tulum! Learning the history was so extraordinary and I can’t wait until they’re done excavating. It is about 65% excavated and it’s taken many years to get to that point. The sad thing is that I couldn’t go inside the buildings because people in the past put graffiti on the walls. ¡Que lástima!
Tulum is set on the coast and the beach is absolutely gorgeous. It’s also a great place to reflect and get some me-time if possible. There are so many tourists I’m not sure if that place is ever empty!
I am finally able to post again. I have been having technical difficulties for the past few days and I am back up and running! It feels good to be back.
Anywho, I wanted to share day 3 from my trip to playa and day 15 of the 28 day challenge!!! I chose to keep it chill and just hung out at the pool at the resort. I chatted with my friends and sipped on cold sweet drinks. That night we went to a sushi dinner to end the day. Day 3 was a much needed laid-back day.

The second day of my trip to Playa Del Carmen was event better than the first. I rode in to downtown Playa and went to Señor Frogs for some ceviche that I was having cravings for since a week prior to the trip! I danced on the bar (only because they made me. It was some sort of fun game they do. I’m not a dance on bar tops type of girl.), and then I went on to the chair and laid out for a while. I finally mustered up the courage to get into the water. I was so nervous there would be jellyfish or crabs that would sting or pinch me (I’m slowly realizing how much of a scared-y-cat I am). The water felt so amazing as I jumped into the waves and splashed around like a little girl. In that moment I felt so blessed to be able to ENJOY life and take in the natural wonders of the world like the ocean, the sand, the sun, etc.
On the 14th day of the 28 day challenge I wore plaid shorts and a bright orange lace top. I felt the combo was perfect for the weather and people seemed to love it! I did a little shopping on 5th avenue and finally called it a day. No, I didn’t party or go to the discoteca. I’m more of a chill-on-the-beach type of gal.
Thanks for visiting and stay tuned for Wrk IT Girl’s day 3 in Playa!
This guy caught a Barracuda…I wasn’t going to touch it, so I thought I’d just point to it
If you follow me on instagram then you’ll know that I recently came back from Playa del Carmen. I hadn’t been on a vacation in about 3 years, so this was especially exciting for me! The first day was a bit overcast but I still had to visit the beach and feel the sand in my toes. One thing that people don’t know about me, except for my super close friends and family, is that I have the worst flight anxiety. I absolutely love visiting new places and taking in different cultures. From the food to dance to customs, but the flights are sometimes so unbearable I’ve had random people offer me Xanax out of sheer pity. Yes, it’s that bad. Thankfully I made it and I am quit proud of myself this time. I still had a little freak out but it definitely wasn’t as bad as past flights where I’ve broke down crying and praying for the flight to be over. I’m a work in progress to say the least.
For the 13th day of the 28day challenge I’m totally rocking my summer-wear in my floral shorts and jean sleeveless top with ruffle detail on the shoulders and polka dots. I loved this top so much when I saw that I literally took it off the mannequin because it was the last one in my size. Talk about determined.
Stay tuned for more of my Playa del Carmen, MX adventures!
A couple days ago I went to Top Golf in Katy, Texas and although I’m no golf pro, I love playing golf. On this 12th day of the 28 day challenge, I wore a frilly white top from Arden B. and green skinny jeans. I also wore some fabric flats that I got from H&M about 2 years ago. I just can’t let them go. It got pretty cold that night, so luckily I brought a little white cardigan to keep me warm.
If you’ve followed my Facebook, you’ll find that I’ve been playing Tennis for about 12 years. It’s my first love, but I am having so much fun with golf these days. Top Golf is a social golfing venue where you can order food, drinks, play foosball, Wii, and other social games. The environment is so fun and relaxed and the food is not bad either. I am a huge foodie so if the food is halfway decent, then I’m always down to go!
Don’t be fooled, there are plenty of beginners that head that way as well. You put your name on a list and then you’re assigned a deck number (kind of like getting a table for a restaurant) and then you have your little spot where you hit your balls from. Check out my follow through. I look pretty funny and I still have a lot of practicing to do before I head to a PGA tour.
Are there any golf lovers out there?! Thanks for visiting!
I had the honor of meeting Stacey Bendet, designer of Alice & Olivia at SAKS the other day. She is so sweet and tiny and so humble. She wore a gorgeous silver gown with a pink fur mini jacket. She looked like a little princess. I wore a green skinny pant and a sleeveless red printed top. That outfit came straight from my closet as we are still continuing the 28-day challenge. We are on day 11 if you lost track.
This event was so fun with the sips of champagne, wine, and sweet treats they served. There was a live violinist who played alongside a DJ and they’re called the Dolls. They were also to perform at SXSW in Austin the very next day. There was also karaoke and I met some fellow bloggers as well! We all got to shop her collection and indulge in the festive atmosphere.
Speaking of SAKS, I hope to see you all at the Houston Prom Week event at SAKS in Houston Galleria. It’ll be April 1-7th. I will be at the Prom Event on Friday April 5th 6pm-8pm on the second floor of the evening department. Come party with us and see some new beauty looks from MAC cosmetics, enjoy some sips and h’orderves, and the fashion presentation of the latest and hottest prom trends! Hello there friends! Today I am sharing an amazing new skincare line that merges technology and beauty. Yes, technology and beauty, who knew!?
This line originated in Paris and they are exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue Locations. The party had champagne and light bites with an amazing singer who performed live with a pianist. The whole vibe was just amazing!
I worked with Kathy from IOMA and she took me through the entire process step-by-step starting with my skin analysis. The skin analysis is done on a globe-like machine and it takes pictures of your face with different types of light. It takes about 2 minutes and then you get your personalized analysis along with recommendations to treat and improve your skin. I personally have very dehydrated and a lot of bacterial activity on my skin especially due to the climate I live in, so I was put into group 1. Group one focuses on hydration and UV damage. Although I had little to no UV damage, I do have dry skin. Kathy gave me a few samples that I’m super excited to try. I found out that I am washing my face with too harsh of a soap so I was given a gentle exfoliant, a sample of the mask, and the cream for hydration.
A couple days ago Wrk IT Girl’s birthday was celebrated at the ever so gorgeous Dryden Kreps boutique at City Center in Houston, Texas. The store’s vibe was very sophisticated and refreshing with a hint of fascinating. They provided royal treatment with cocktails and yummy bites catered from a Mexican restaurant just across the way and they didn’t shy out on the cocktails either. Let’s just say we were in for a good time.
Their style experts were extremely knowledgable about the latest trends and were really diligent in helping you incorporate that into your personal style. Their gorgeous suits were like pieces of art as you’re able to have them custom tailored to your liking and you can do the same for the women’s wear as well.
I had the pleasure of meeting the VP of Dryden Kreps and he was a very sharp man, not only in his dress but his personality. He was so sweet and inviting and really made our experience enjoyable. I have been to many boutiques but I felt the differentiator is the A-list service, attention to detail, and their style experts knowledge. I will definitely be returning to Dryden Kreps for that VIP experience.
